Working the Land (not really at all)

Hi!
I'm back dancing around the garden today, saying goodbye to Autumn! (and yes, jumping on the lawnmower for that very excellent last shot) I'm wearing the Hendrix Jacket by Amilita and the Python Aloha shorts by Spell Designs(no surprises there haha.) The shorts are a little too big for me (I'm in a 10, I could have gone an 8 but I'm always a bit unsure) but I figure I'm going to feed up over winter and they will be perfect by the time I pull them out again in Spring. My belt and True Romance tee are both op shop finds, and my boots are secondhand from a shop in Byron. (I always take it as a sign when vintage shoes fit me, that I should buy them and these are perfect.) This is a fairly uniform outfit for me, it's a pity as I mentioned I will have to shelve the shorts now it's getting colder! I think that's just about enough from me for now :)

Love and light,

Floral and Fringe and Fri..nope it's Thursday

Afternoon lovers :)
today I'm wearing a dress that I absolutely adore, one that my mum used to wear all the time in the 1970s. We tried to find a picture of her in it to compare (no luck) but I got the chance to look through a heap of old photos of my parents and family which I always love doing. The fashion tells me I was born in the wrong decade! I like to mix it up though, I just wear whatever I feel whether it's new or old. I picked up this cool little vintage jacket from U-Turn in Surry Hills, I always make a point of stopping there when I'm in Sydney. I have a much heavier fringe jacket that I love which used to belong to my dad as well (it will probably turn up in later posts) but I don't think you can have too much fringe! I'm going to try and blog a bit more because my pasts are a little few and far between I think, so stay tuned :)

Big love,
Kath

Spell on Me

Hooray the sun came out for me today :) :) I found it really hard to cull photos from today, because I just love my Spell playsuit (I was floating on air all day wearing this) and I love my cutie dogs so I let a few of those slip through ;)
A couple of the photos were taken of me in our old van, one that my dad used to use to deliver his art to Perth when he was a full-time artist. As a young dude he drove around Australia a few times in a kombi and it is such a dream of mine! I've been across the Nullarbor and back in a Commodore, it's not quite as romantic but still a whole hell of a lot of fun! There is nothing quite like standing on the cliffs of the Great Australian Bight and looking out to the great expanse of ocean in front of you. I'm currently in negotiations with Dad as to whether he will let me take over the van and transform it into a dream space so I'll keep you posted on that one. On top of that, I have been having dreams about visiting my brother who is living in Malaysia, so I think that might be the universe trying to tell me something..For now I'll take my travel filled brain for a cup of tea and go and force more cuddles on my fur babies ;)

Love and light

Back in Black

Oh my poor pale pins..

Hey hi,
I have been a bit absent these past couple of days, trying to figure out whether I'm doing the right things, and what standards I expect for myself, and whether I reach them. (Deep I know.) But I have stepped back for a minute and cooled my jets, and my blog and my business make me happy so here I am, frolicking in the garden once againnnn this time in a fabulous sequinned vintage number I bought in Prague a few years ago. These boots are Arnhem Clothing  and they are going to be some of my best friends this winter! (I've already walked the dogs in them a few times hehe.) Definitely worth the buy.
Meanwhile I spent the entire of yesterday drooling over the new Spell lookbook, (see it here) I want everything, my bank account doesn't really agree! I'm still finding it hard to transition to dressing for the cooler weather so the Mandala Crochet Coat might just do the trick..
;) Good vibes
Kath xx

Don't Steal My Sunshine

I am still trying to hold onto any sunshine I can get before winter completely takes over, so I took the chance to wear this beautiful dress today. I do like winter but after a few seasons of getting around in a snow jacket at Thredbo my winter wardrobe is a bit lacking!
I'm the biggest fan of secondhand and vintage stuff but it is even better when your own Grandma handmade it in the 1940s before she was married! She is 90 years old this year, and I am so thankful that she thought of me to give it to recently. I love it dearly! I also love my dogs dearly, so I insisted they both get in on the pictures haha. Teddy is my big border collie x baby, and Gracie is the Westie who behaves like a cat and keeps me on my toes. I've been walking them 2-3 times a day lately, which I love because we live on the river and I get to spend some quiet thinking time as well as meeting everyone else who walks their dogs around here. Such a dog person. I can appreciate cats on occasion, but dogs win out for sure!!

Looking forward to getting around in boots a lot more now it's cooling down, I am a big boot fiend. In the meantime, I'm wearing a gorgeous fine silver necklace from Hunter Gatherer and a concho beauty from here
If you have your eyes on my cute little tassel bracelet jump on www.lexiandroy.com.au to grab one :D

Love and light,
Kath
