The ban

 

 

 

Ahhhh August. The month I chose to ban myself from buying clothes online or in the shops. As it draws to a close, I almosttt made it but I bent the rules a little. How could I not with the drop of the Bohemian Royale collection over at my very favorite Spell Designs. I hotfooted it up to Perth last Friday to try on a heap of it at Lexi and Roy and ended up putting the crochet mini on layby. Fell in love with everything! Back home today, I delved into my wardrobe and pulled out this H&M maxi I bought in Malaysia last year, and threw it on with a Sportsgirl necklace from a while back and my ever reliable Arnhem boots. I have a lot of stuff, and one of the reasons for the ban was to help me go back into my wardrobe and wear more of what I already own instead of seeking out new things. An easy outfit that I will wear again and again (although maybe with my Gypsy Queen bralette next time to avoid that nippy situation hahaha)

Lovers!

I am back on the blog after a bit of a break. And I am back in Spell, which as we all know is my all time fave hehe. I put the Fleetwood blouse on layby in early July through Call Me the Breeze and paid it off pretty damn quickly so I could basically just stare at it - it is one of those pieces that I can barely bring myself to wear because it is just so beautiful! Meanwhile, I declared August a clothes buying free zone. It's been ok so far, but get back to me in a few days! It will be a good opportunity for me to delve further into what I already own for coming posts though I think. These shots were taken this afternoon in the beautiful sunshine with my Dad on camera and my Mum ordering me around to smell the flowers and get in amongst the undergrowth, hence why I am mid-mad-laugh in a few of these. It feels good to be back, I promise not to leave it three weeks this time!

All in One

Hi lovers!

I very nearly didn't put this post up, not because this isn't the best jumpsuit ever, but because I just felt like my face wasn't cooperating! (My body rarely cooperates anyway haha!) Anyway, here it is. Many moons ago I picked myself up a satin spaghetti string jumpsuit from Sportsgirl. I don't think I wore it once. But then having followed @hello_hippie_vintage for a while on Instagram, this gorgy jumpsuit popped up and I snapped it up in a couple of minutes. It is made by Melody from My Sunday Feeling, and I have always sooo loved her one off dresses, jumpsuits and sets. her pieces are also available at Verge Girl. I'm not beyond wearing this jumpsuit without some swimmers or a bra and undies in the summer time, but it turns out that the suit I bought years ago fits perfectly underneath as lining for my MSF jumpy. I knew I bought it for a reason ;) I hope one day to be able to afford one of her amazing amazing one off dresses, but in the meantime, this is perfect for me!! Teamed with one of my fave necklaces from Arrow Divine  

I have to rush off and go blow out some candles for my 26th birthday that was on Friday, so that's enough from me!

Birthdaze

Hey gang,

I was hoping to have posted a bit more in the last couple of weeks but things have gotten away from me! Today was my birthday so we jumped in the car and headed down to Margaret River for an incredibly good lunch at Settlers Tavern, a stop off at Gnarabup Beach and then another break for coffee. I wore my new Spell Designs duster, and I know I say this about everything, but I never want to take it off! Anyway this is only a quick check in to say there is plenty more goodness to come, and thank you for your support so far :D

One of my (fashion) rules in life is...

Hey!

Let me just start buy saying one of my (fashion) rules in life is, if I find a pair of vintage boots that I love and they fit me, I do my very best to buy them. That happened with these and another pair of boots I picked up in Byron a couple of years ago. I always love to think about the stories behind them, and it's not everyday that you can find something you love it and it be perfect for you ;) the only struggle I have is that I really love fringe too, and sometimes it is possible to just border on cowboy. I also really dig that they are from Byron because I just adore it there! Anyway a few days ago I was thinking to myself, man I really wish I had kind of a long wool coat... it pays to have a ferret around my parents' house for any wardrobe issues I might have because things just seem to turn up.. no deal but then I went into the spare cupboard at my sister's and bam, this beauty that my aunty passed down to me. Teamed with an Arnhem kimono (that I actually gave to my mum as a present mwahaha, check out their sale section at the mo, raddest maxi ones available) and a pair of old Cotton On shorts and my go to Asos singlet and I am reading to rumble. Possible not too much rumbling if it got any colder than today though hehe. My dog children making cameos once again ;)

A Little Bit More

Evening lovers :)

Straight up, Casa Kuma for the pants and Rossioroos for the bag. Simple as that. These pants are THE business, you get on the comfort ship and sail right into lounging-around-harbour. Or something along those lines hehehe. I originally bought this bag as a present for my mum, but I try and steal it back wherever possible because it fits so much in it and is a definite head turner, the colours are delicious. The first couple of pics are taken down near the river, where I usually walk the dogs. I love watching them run around and have the time of their lives while I meander along in the sunshine. My ever suffering photographer Dad struggled again to get me to act normally in front of the camera (see my shots pretending to shoot a ball a la Liz Lemon haha) because I get all stiff and weird, but every time we go out I think he manages to bring out just a little bit more gold in me ;)
